Democrat party officials are summoning delegates to state headquarters, in a saga that more resembles Soviet Russia than Colorado.
More on that in a moment on the Face The State Radio Minute.
Sacha Millstone is a Democrat delegate to her party’s national convention. She also happens to be a supporter of Hillary Clinton. And even though the New York senator fell short of the nomination for president, her supporters are still involved in the proceedings next week in Denver.
Well, that is if they don’t offend party leaders. Millstone had written an e-mail to a fellow delegate expressing frustration with Barack Obama’s campaign. That e-mail found its way to the state Democrat party. The political director told Millstone her delegate status was at risk. And what’s more, he ordered her - “directed,” was the word - to appear at party headquarters. That e-mail landed at a Denver TV station.
For all the talk about a new tone of political discourse, the state’s Democrat party sure doesn’t tolerate free expression in its own ranks.
