Face The State managing editor Brad Jones talks with Newstalk 1310 KFKA's Amy Oliver about Colorado's leftist Supreme Court, judicial appointments and Senate District 23. With the Colorado State Board of Education deciding recently in a closed-door session to join Gov. Bill Ritter's appeal of a ruling finding the state's property tax increase unconstitutional, the final decision in the case rests with the notoriously liberal state Supreme Court. The likely upcoming departure of Chief Justice Mary Mullarkey, combined with a spate of recent unpopular opinions, suggest state judicial appointments will take center stage at the Capitol.
Also, Brad and Amy discuss what it will take to win one of Colorado's most watched state Senate races between Sen. Shawn Mitchell, R-Broomfield, and Democrat challenger Joe Whitcomb.
